- Who: Sophomore students, enrolled full-time at four-year (baccalaureate) institution; U.S. citizen or permanent resident (documentary support required); Minimum 3.2 grade point average (on 4.0-scale); Strong interest in international affairs; Underrepresented minority
- What: The IIPP Fellowship program provides students with specially designed education and training experiences critical to entry and advancement in international affairs careers. Students are recruited from across the nation and apply as sophomores to participate in a multi-year sequence of summer policy institutes, study abroad, intensive language training, internships, and graduate study, complemented by career development services along the way.

2005 Montgomery Summer Research Diversity Fellowships | American Bar Foundation
- Who: Sophomores or juniors who are American citizens and lawful permanent residents including, but not limited to, persons who are African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native American, or Puerto Rican, as well as other individuals who will add diversity to the field of law and social science. Applicants must have a Grade Point Average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and be moving toward an academic major in the social sciences or humanities.
- What: Four summer research fellowships will be awarded each year. Each student will be assigned to an American Bar Foundation Research Fellow who will involve the student in the design and conduct of the Fellow's research project and who will act as mentor during the student's tenure. The students will work at the American Bar Foundation's offices in Chicago, Illinois for 35 hours a week for a period of 10 weeks. Each student will receive a stipend of $3,600

Summer Research Internship Program | Multicultural Academic Opportunities Program, Virginia Tech
- Who: Students of any race or ethnicity who demonstrate a clear commitment to the pursuit of academic excellence are eligible to apply for MAOP programs.
- What: The summer research internship is often a life-changing experience for those who participate. Majors in a wide variety of fields - science, agriculture, natural resources, veterinary medicine, public policy, architecture, plus many other fields - spend 10 weeks during the summer working intensely with a faculty mentor on a research project. Students are paid a stipend of $2500, free room and board and a free and mandatory ten-week Graduate Record Examination (GRE) test preparation class. Participants will also be provided with many weekend activities of their choice and trips to nearby attractions.

that your financial aid office has certified you as having "exceptional financial need." - What: The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Undergraduate Scholarship Program (UGSP) offers competitive scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who are committed to careers in biomedical, behavioral, and social science health-related research. The program offers: Scholarship support (up to $20,000 per academic year), paid research training at the NIH during the summer, and paid employment and training at the NIH after graduation .
