About Project Uplift
Continuing in our 40th year, Project Uplift is consistently providing a diverse selection of rising high school seniors, from across the state of North Carolina, an opportunity to live, lead and learn about the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on a first-hand basis.
Benefits of Project Uplift participation include:
Living | Living arrangements are provided in a University Residence Hall where you will share a room with another Project Uplift participant. All meals will be provided in our campus dining halls.
Learning | Many members of the Carolina community have worked together to make sure Project Uplift will be the most rewarding experience you will have. Faculty, staff and students have prepared information about UNC-Chapel Hill that will properly introduce you to the Carolina experience. You will have an opportunity to attend classes, talk with professors, attend demonstration lectures and science laboratories. You will also learn about admissions procedures and how to afford a college education.
Leading | Project Uplift will challenge and encourage you to become a leader. You will leave wanting to know more about yourself and others and how to make a college experience work for you. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is a committed and inclusive community of people who want to make life successful.
Some of the organizations that make Project Uplift possible include, the Black Student Movement, Carolina Indian Circle, and Carolina Hispanic Association. Many University departments such as the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, University Career Services, the Learning Skills Center, University Counseling Center, Academic departments and Student Affairs offices are also major contributors to the success of Project Uplift.
