Past Training Events:
NCBI (National Coalition Building Institute) Training: The Welcoming Diversity Train the Trainer Workshop | January 23-25, 2007 | 8:00-5:00 p.m. | Camp New Hope, Chapel Hill, NC | Pre-registration is required.
Would you like to share diversity training with peers across campus? Are you interested in becoming part of an on-going collaborative group that offers diversity training to the UNC campus? Cherie Brown, NCBI's Executive Director, will lead this NCBI Train-the-Trainer workshop. The workshopis an intensive and interactive three-day course that teaches participants how to lead the highly effective and publicly-acclaimed Welcoming Diversity / Prejudice Reduction Workshop. The NCBI train-the-trainer model offers important qualities: Participants meet often in small learning groups where they receive individual coaching and practice in leading major workshop components. The combination of emotional healing work and practical skill training enables participants to learn quickly in a safe environment that values individual initiative. NCBI's seasoned training teams, representing a wide variety of backgrounds, coupled with the diversity of the participants in the seminar, provide a valuable resource that helps participants better understand their similarities and differences and learn valuable bridge-building skills.
- Who can participate: Students, faculty and staff. Attendance at the entire workshop is required in order to complete the training. By attending this training you are agreeing to become part of the Campus NCBI Team. This means attending a monthly meeting and understanding that you may be called upon to provide training for the campus community. Space is limited!
