The North Carolina Chapter of Delta Upsilon places a great deal of importance on academic success. Our current GPA is higher than the all-men’s, all-Fraternity and all-Greek averages. We achieve this goal through a variety of methods:
Academic Standards
All brothers are required to have a 2.5 grade point average to be a member in good standing. All associate members are required to have a 2.5 GPA and to complete eight study hours per week. If members do not meet these requirements, the Chapter’s Scholarship Review Board meets and imposes restrictions and additional study hours on the man in question.
Test/Note Bank
Two file cabinets are devoted to this Chapter resource, open to any DU brother or associate member. The bank is made up of notebooks, graded tests and assignments from courses spanning major disciplines, including business, political science, economics and journalism. It is kept organized and current by the Vice President for Scholarship.
Study Hours/Lounge
There are mandatory quiet hours during the week and extended quiet hours during exam periods, so brothers can use the house to study. One room in our house is designated as a study lounge, and has desks and other facilities available for brothers and associate members to use.
