The Parish:

  • Chapel of the Cross - Home of our 150-plus-year-old parish and namesake of the village of Chapel Hill. Conveniently located for students next to campus and downtown on Franklin St. (Bordered by Spencer Residence Hall, the Coker Arboretum, and the Morehead Planetarium).

  • The Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina - Official website of the diocese of which Chapel of the Cross is a member. Includes links to many other resources, as well as links to other area churches.

Episcopal Resources on the Internet:

  • Kanuga  The Episcopal Conference Center in the Western North Carolina Mountains

  • Trinity Center - A retreat and conference center owned and operated by the Episcopal Diocese of East Carolina. Home of Sound to Sea, a residential environmental experience.

  • The Episcopal Church Homepage

  • Anglicans Online  A huge collection of Anglican/Episcopal worldwide resources-updated weekly.

  • Washington National Cathedral  This site lets you take a virtual tour of the Cathedral Church of S.S. Peter and Paul, America's cathedral church.

  • The Cathedral of St. John the Divine  The world's largest cathedral, also an Episcopal church, located in New York City.

  • 1998 Lambeth Conference  Homepage for the gathering of all Anglican Archbishops and Bishops at the Archbishop of Canterbury's palace.  A good source of info about the current issues facing the Anglican Communion.

  • The Book of Common Prayer  A terrific website containing the current BCP in use (1979) and also the texts of the older BCPs.  The Book of Common Prayer contains the essentials of the Anglican/Episcopal faith and our liturgies.  The wording of the prayerbook is crucial to our faith, as Anglicans contend that "we believe what we pray."

  • The Daily Office  The Anglican form of the Christianity's ancient Divine Office- the daily lectionary readings from the Bible and the liturgical prayers read daily by monastics, priests, and lay Christians.  This website will calculate the daily lectionary readings, psalms, and canticles for you.

  • Sacred Space Sacred Space is a prayer site, updated daily, which guides you through a ten minute session of prayer, centred on a passage of scripture chosen specially for the day.
