Distinguished Alumna and Alumnus Award Recipients
1971-present
The Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Awards were established by a resolution of the Faculty Council adopted February 5, 1971.
Awards are given each year on University Day or a similar special occasion in recognition of outstanding contributions to mankind by alumni of the University.
Recipients are recommended by the faculty’s Committee on Honorary Degrees and Special Awards and are approved by the Faculty Council and the Board of Trustees. The recipient must be an alumnus who was registered for at least one full academic year spent in residence at the University. Current members of the faculty or administration are ineligible but become eligible two years after separation from the University.
