General
The Horace Williams Airport is owned and operated by The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The mission of the Airport is to provide a safe, efficient, and self-supporting airport for the use of AHEC Medical Air Operations and other University-related activities.
Airport facilities consist of the Administration Building, a large hangar for parking aircraft, several small T-hangars, and a number of tie-downs for both local and transient aircraft.
Location
The Airport is located just northwest of the intersection of Airport Road and Estes Drive. It is across the road from the rear of the UNC Facilities Services Department.
Assistance
Patrons of the Airport can obtain services by contacting the Airport Manager or on-duty Airport employee in the Airport Administration Building or by calling 962-1337. Someone will be on duty during the operating hours. However, there may be times when no one is in the office and at such times the telephone is not monitored. In emergencies, the University Police may be contacted at 962-6565.
Organization
The Airport Manager reports to the Manager for Administration and Small Enterprises.
