General
University Payroll Services processes payrolls on three different frequency schedules: monthly, biweekly, and summer school.
Monthly Payroll
The following types of payments are made on the Monthly Payroll:
- All payments made to persons holding EPA appointments (Exempt from the State Personnel Act)-with two exceptions:
- part-time academic service appointees (graduate assistants, teaching assistants, etc.) whose appointments coincide with an academic year or semester, and
- summer school faculty, including visiting summer school appointments (see Summer School Payroll heading, below)
- All supplemental payments (honoraria, one-time payments, etc.) made to persons holding EPA appointments who are paid regularly on a monthly basis
- All one-time payments made to visiting persons for services rendered on a temporary basis where it is determined an employer-employee relationship exists
Biweekly Payroll
The following persons are paid on the biweekly payroll:
- All persons holding SPA appointments (Subject to the State Personnel Act), permanent or temporary, full-time or part-time
- All undergraduate student employees
- part-time academic service appointees (graduate assistants, teaching assistants, etc.) whose appointments coincide with an academic year or semester
Summer School Payroll
All summer school faculty (including visiting faculty) are paid twice each session on a separate payroll run at the end of each summer session. Payroll checks for summer school are released by Payroll to the Summer Session Office for distribution to the instructors and teachers upon completion of requirements.
Likewise, checks for teaching assistants employed in the summer session are produced twice each session and released to the Summer School Office.
