Deans, Directors, and Department Chairs:

The paragraph should include:

Please email the paragraph to cps@unc.edu before Friday, March 17. 1 will post information about your unit's efforts on our web site at www.unc.edu/cps and email a copy of the completed report to the contact person listed in your paragraph.

The Carolina Center for Public Service supports hurricane recovery efforts by all parts of the University. We are in contact with numerous local and state officials and are available to help you plan recovery efforts that take advantage of your unit's expertise. We also plan trips for groups to rebuild some of the 56,000 damaged homes. If your unit would like to volunteer, we will provide equipment, transportation, and instruction on any day that you choose.

Finally, grant money is available to support your involvement in the recovery. To apply for a grant, please email a description of your project with a budget to cps@unc.edu.

Thank you for your many contributions to the people of North Carolina.

Sincerely,

Sandy Alexander
Coordinator, Hurricane Floyd Recovery Project
