MEMORANDUM
| TO: | Deans, Directors and Department Chairs |
| FROM: | Roger Patterson. Associate Vice Chancellor for Finance |
| RE: | Budget Needs for the June 30, 2000 Biweekly Payroll |
My purpose in writing is to provide information concerning the budget responsibilities for the biweekly payroll that will be paid on June 30, 2000. As everyone is aware, fiscal year 1999- 2000 will have 27 biweekly payrolls instead of the normal 26. It is important that budget or fund balance, as appropriate, is available to cover the biweekly payroll dated June 30, 2000.
Additional budget will be provided for salaries for permanent positions, temporary wages, student wages, and benefits that are charged to State Appropriations and Overhead Receipts accounts. When the biweekly payroll dated June 30, 2000 is posted to your departmental accounts, the departmental budgets will be automatically increased by the same amounts to the same object codes. No action is required of any campus unit.
As a reminder, please note that the additional budget or fund balance needed for accounts other than State Appropriations and Overhead Receipts is the responsibility of the campus unit. This would include State receipts-supported accounts, Contracts and Grants, and all other Institutional Trust and Special Funds. No action is needed if these accounts have sufficient budget or fund balances available, but please be mindful of need to review your budgets and cover the biweekly payroll dated June 30, 2000.
You may wish to contact Dennis Press, University Controller, at 2-7007
or your budget officer in Financial Planning and Budgets if you have any
questions.
