Dear Colleague:
The Electronics Office Service Center (EOSC) continues to seek ways of providing better and faster support, and to make our service more user-friendly to you. EOSC added email input dedicated to initiating EOSC service calls. It is available to you on the EOSC web pages at http://help.unc.edu/EOSQ/. The "Need Service?" option is a link to a page that allows you to provide us the information we need, send the page automatically, and it will confirm to you that we received it and opened a call. I hope you'll take a few minutes and look at the page, bookmark it for future use, and make maximum use of the feature whenever your office needs repair support. Included within the EOSC pages is a copy of the latest service agreement, a list of our personnel, and other information you may need to make repair easier.
EOSC, as many of you know, became part of ATN on July 1, 1998. EOSC's responsibilities did not change, we continue to provide the same support, and are seeking ways to improve our support. EOSC is heavily involved with the Carolina Computing Initiative (CCI) in the delivery, set-up of new equipment, and the warranty repair of CCI equipment. We are working closely with Student Stores' RAM Shop to provide set-up of student owned computers purchased under the CCI and from the other manufacturers carried by the RAM Shop.
In addition to warranty support for IBM equipment, we continue to provide warranty repair for all Dell and Apple equipment under their warranty programs.
As an EOSC customer, I thought you'd be interested in the ways we are trying to improve support for your department. If you have any questions or comments, please call me at 962-2082 or contact me by email at mike- dameron@unc.edu .
Sincerely,
Michael S. Dameron, Manager
Electronic Office Service Center
