The business standard mileage rate set by the Internal Revenue Service will increase to 32.5 cents effective January 1, 2000. As authorized by the NC Office of State Budget and Management, departments may reimburse travelers up to 32.5 cents per mile for business use of a personal vehicle. The current rate of 3 1.0 cents per mile should be used for travel through December 31, 1999.
