Isotope Geochemistry Lab

Last week when Mike Lester was using the muffle furnace, it took a while for the buttons to respond.  The control box has needed to be pressed for a while since I started using it two years ago. Now the control panel doesn’t respond to touching, after looking at the manual that the Thermolyne/Barnstead rep (Emanuel Rogers extension 6408 at 1-800-553-0039) sent, nothing new was determined but he did suggest the control box could be locked.  I tried unlocking by pressing both the up and down but nothing happened.

A new controller box will cost $ 832 (part # CN71X51)

A new furnace will cost $ 2193.

Welcome to the BETA version of the website for the UNC Geochemistry Lab. This site is designed to provide a collaborative environment in which all aspects of the lab can be managed. On this website, procedures can be updated, discussed, and stored for easy access.

If you work in the lab and want access to the site, you can log in with your Onyen. You will be added as a “subscriber” which doesn’t do much. If you ask me (Daven) nicely, though, I will add you as a “editor” which comes with all sorts of crazy privileges.

As a BETA, the site is rough. I am aware of and fixing the obvious problems, but if you see anything that you don’t like, please let me know.
