• remove cover slits from filament bricks
• remove filament bricks from inactive turret
• wipe gunk off with aluminum oxide powder, water and q-tip
• wipe gunk off with a Kimwipe (q-tip) soaked in ethanol
• rinse with H₂O_(mQ) 3 times
• add 10% HNO_{3(cleaning grade)} to glass beaker
• place on hotplate and bring to a boil
• discard HNO₃ into glass bottle labeled “discard” or “dirty”
• rinse with H₂O_(mQ) 3 times
• discard H₂O
• quickly move to drying oven overnight
• replace filament bricks onto turret
