Now the control panel doesn’t respond to touching, after looking at the manual that the Thermolyne/Barnstead rep (Emanuel Rogers extension 6408 at 1-800-553-0039) sent, nothing new was determined but he did suggest the control box could be locked.  I tried unlocking by pressing both the up and down but nothing happened.

A new controller box will cost $ 832 (part # CN71X51)

A new furnace will cost $ 2193.
