Description of Organization

UNC Hip Hop Nation is an organization reconstructed to be an instrument promoting hip hop culture at and beyond the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Description of Goals

UNC Hip Hop Nation seeks:

Description of Means

Hip Hop Nation participates in a wide scope of events or productions potentially assisting the accomplishment of goals described above. Possible “events” include town meeting-like discussions with guest panelists on issues pertinent to Hiphop culture, late night Hip Hop parties, and the production of sound/video recordables.

Group Components

General Body
General members of the Hip Hop Nation
Civilians are interested consumers of Hiphop who seek Hip Hop Nation affiliation at the capacity of devotee. Civilians attend general body meetings regularly and are dedicated supporters of Hip Hop Nation’s events.
Civil Servants
Servants are civilians who take more active roles than support and representation of Hip Hop Nation. Civil servants actively participate in the production of Hip Hop Nation events and progression of Hiphop culture at and beyond UNC.
Civil servants divide into subgroups dependant upon the nature of their area of interest and expertise. An example of these subgroups would be Promotion/Publication, Sound Services, etc. all to be determined by the number of interested members.
Senators
Senators ore civil servants who accept the responsibility of coordinating and presiding over subgroups to insure productivity and effective communication to organization executives.
Executives
Executives are civil servants who have been appointed officers in the following positions:

Advisor

Hip Hop Nation advisors fulfill the position of mentor to the organization; assisting through advising, supervising, and representing on an as-needed basis.

Membership

Hip Hop Nation is open to all members of the University community without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, disability, age, veteran status, sexual orientation, and sex. We welcome all who consider themselves “of the Hip Hop nation” and seek membership with dedication.
