John Inazu is a Fellow in Public Law and Senior Lecturing
Fellow at Duke University School of Law. His
teaching and scholarship focus on the First
Amendment freedoms of speech, assembly, and religion.
More broadly, he is interested in the intersection of
political theory, theology, and public law.
Mr. Inazu holds a J.D. from Duke University School of Law
and a Ph.D. in political science from the University of
North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He clerked for the Honorable
Roger Wollman on the United States Court of Appeals for the
Eighth Circuit and served for four years as an associate general counsel for
the Department of the Air Force at the Pentagon.
He and his wife, Caroline, are the proud parents of two
beautiful daughters, Lauren (age two) and
Hana (age six months).
