About Me...some highlights, in a nutshell...
- I lived on Kwajalein island during my wonder years of youth.
- My dad was a missile engineer so we moved around a lot, ending up in NC for the bulk of my life.
- I was an infamously lousy undergraduate, but found a certain calling in college radio thanks to WXYC .
- After proving that I could survive and thrive in the Washington, DC area (one of my favorite places in DC), I returned to NC to work for Sugar Hill Records, then came to UNC-TV where I still work.
- In my spare time, I produced a CD tribute to Dusty Springfield entitled Forever Dusty in 2000. It features 17 Dusty Springfield classics performed by an all female list of more contemporary performers, including Indigo Girls, Laura Love, Jill Sobule, Marti Jones and more.
- I finally conquered manual transmission when I bought a
MINI Cooper.
- My partner and I had a son,
Mack in 2004.
- I co-lead a teen youth group at my church, St. Philip's Episcopal, and last June we ventured to Spain on the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage. We did the "short" walk (70+ miles in five days, or, on average, about 15 miles per day) of the centurys' old 450 mile walk to the Cathedral in Santiago, where the bones of St. James are said to be interred.
