Death Desire:

Ocean's Edge:
Male... it's class time

PANITEOWL:
Moon .. will you hit your Macro for all to see?
PANITEOWL:
everyone ready?
Moon's Tears:
Blessed Be, PAniteowl is teaching a class this night called "Through the Veil"
Typo Demon:
yup
Moon's Tears:
Please save all questions for the end unless PA calls for them
autumn:
...ready..
Moon's Tears:
all other communications should be through Instant Message
By God and Goddess of Peace, Love, and Light,
I greet this room "Welcome" tonight!
By Air, Fire, Water, and Earth
Freinsch:
Aye, ready
Moon's Tears:
may this room be forever filled with mirth!
Typo Demon:
all cozy in Oceans lap ready for class
Moon's Tears:
With merriment and joviality,
peaceful this room ever shall be!
{ready}
Red Deer:
With that... PA?
PANITEOWL:
Here goes}}}}
For those who did not get to the BB, The search for magik and extraordinary power has occupied scholars for centuries. Yet the natural talent, of ESP, or "the sight", or "intuition" has been neglected for some time. A natural ability, which has deteriorated through the generations through lack of use, can be relearned. Before the formation of communities, individuals depended upon their insightful abilities for protection. As societies formed, these talents deteriorated the need for "white lies" became more important to save face, to keep peace, and to allow the function of society. As these talents were left behind, they also became suspect. Following along with this? Any comments?
ZenMastr:
gotcha
Moon's Tears:
{-ok so far PA
Ocean's Edge:
still awake and with you

Red Deer:
{--- got it so far
Witch Cat:
:)
PANITEOWL:
OK... As those who choose paths of contemplation have found, these talents have a way of popping up without warning. As everyone knows, each person has a different degree of talent in particular subjects. So too with the sight, some are better than others - some are better in different ways... For instance, Tarot readers use the cards .. as a focal point to activate the talent. Some psychics who work with law enforcement, use the aura of objects. Others use the ability to communicate with other people and animals. It is not just one facet of our ability there is a bit of the craft in all, yet some have been taught to deny it, some are frightened by it and some fear it in others. The rituals of the craft tend to open these abilities in the practitioners. Sometimes, the responses are worrisome to newcomers, but properly instructed and bolstered, it is a definite additive to our craft. I'd like others to share their experiences, and how they have nurtured their abilities, or at least to recognize the talent, when they see it. Now, let's have a discussion. Who here is aware of their own talents?
ZenMastr:
me
Death Desire:
i am
Hayflower:
{--:)
ZenMastr:
or lack thereof...
PANITEOWL:
{g}
PANITEOWL:
Have you had any experience in others relating to your use of the talent?
Witch Cat:
Has been from childhood...just not known how to define.
ZenMastr:
can i comment, PA?
PANITEOWL:
yes Zen
Warmuth:
I know what I am good and what I have to work on constantly
Annwyn:
I am
Red Deer:
{--- me, of some of them
Mushasi:
I am.
ZenMastr:
my talent is one where i get a gut reaction...took me a long time to learn and develop my instincts
Sylverhare:
I also
PANITEOWL:
Yes Warm .. I know you have the talent
autumn:
i have had it since a child, though as a child i did not understand what it was
Freinsch:
I have only had limited experience. They seem to come unsought when they come.
ZenMastr:
with people as well as situations....and mine functions best when i just allow it
Annwyn:
Also trusting those instincts
PANITEOWL:
ok .. then why is it, when we do get an insight, we tend to doubt ourselves?
Moon's Tears:
I believe that talent *can* be developed and improved upon...
Warmuth:
most of my students aren't sure what they are good at...they spend most their life denying them and the rest trying to understand and use them
Typo Demon:
rational thought
Death Desire:
i can read peoples vibes very well.. i can also feel presence's
ZenMastr:
conditioning?
Ocean's Edge:
I get a sense for people an immediate reaction
PANITEOWL:
Good point Warm
Red Deer:
yes
PANITEOWL:
yes Zen .. conditioning
St Barbara:
survival conditioning
ZenMastr:
heir conditioning{G}
Rowan Berry:
My grandmother had 'second sight'. She could foresee disaster for some of those she loved.
Red Deer:
and it's important to recognize that the view may come in fragments
PANITEOWL:
No matter who we are, we can't deny the heavy conditioning from society
Moon's Tears:
many people have that Rowan.. that connection w/ loved ones
Red Deer:
which may not be coherently synthesized for the conscious mind for days...
Red Deer:
months or even years
PANITEOWL:
Yes Red .. good point ..
Witch Cat:
When try to bring about or concentrate...nothing...but when relax...is like breathing...very natural but uncontrolled.
PANITEOWL:
the sight is not like a photograph
autumn:
...but as i got older, it began to become clear to me what was going on
Annwyn:
May come in fragments or symbols
Death Desire:
it is like a flashback {G}
Sylverhare:
I think many of us are taught not to trust ourselves, when we develop self knowledge, self trust, and self confidence the abilities flow through rather smoothly
Hayflower:
I had to learn to trust mine intuition when I lived in NYC. It was a definite survival issue at the time.
Red Deer:
I find it much like symbolism which must be interpreted
PANITEOWL:
you get bits & pieces, and your own background & experience fills in the blanks
Red Deer:
especially when it's mostly visual
Warmuth:
I think most of the problem comes from people never learning to really concentrate completely on one thing
Mushasi:
You lose the Child's ability to believe.
St Barbara:
I'm from NYC and know
PANITEOWL:
Your receiver is not quite skewed to everyone else's
Rowan Berry:
i have been frightened by the same kind of thing in myself. I have known without any 'rational' reason that certain people would be dangerous for those whom i love.
autumn:
yes, i get that sometimes too, like a flashback, though i was never in that place at that time, or perhaps ever
PANITEOWL:
therefore, you have to recognize the static
Death Desire:
i am relieved ..
Red Deer:
That's a property of our western culture, Musashi
St Barbara:
Lived in rough areas, needle park 60's
PANITEOWL:
Yes Rowan .. I have had that too
Typo Demon:
i can "see" things for others but not myself
Typo Demon:
don't know why
PANITEOWL:
that's common Type
Typo Demon:
it's annoying
Death Desire:
LOL
Typo Demon:
:}
PANITEOWL:
it's like not wanting to invade your own space {g}
Freinsch:
How can we attune ourselves to see through the static?
Red Deer:
I was taught not to read Tarot for myself, Typo
Typo Demon:
PA do you mind if i share something
autumn:
seldom do i see for myself, most times just others.. though there have been times
Typo Demon:
with the class
PANITEOWL:
go ahead Typo
Typo Demon:
I recently moved from my home town out on my own
St Barbara:
ye
Rowan Berry:
what frightens me is that after i 'know' these things, it often is confirmed.
autumn:
i strangely enough can get a accurate reading of the tarot for myself
Typo Demon:
there have been a bizarre set of events
Death Desire:
i to autumn
Typo Demon:
that has taken place in the process when i arrived my friends daughter fell very ill then my roommate was injured and even still
PANITEOWL:
Rowan, why does that frighten you
Typo Demon:
another friend was diagnosed with aids all in a matter of days. the weird part
Red Deer:
Typo, when considering bizarre occurrences, one does well to remember that the god/dess/es not only play dice with the universe, they throw the dice where we can't see them at times
Typo Demon:
is how everything fell into place
Death Desire:
did you foresee it typo?
Typo Demon:
for my to get out of my moms house and move here
Red Deer:
(paraphrased from S. Hawking)
Rowan Berry:
i think that is a hangover from rigid xian upbringing
Typo Demon:
yes
Typo Demon:
i knew i would be needed here just didn't know why. now i do know
PANITEOWL:
{g} we cant blame everything on that Rowan, but I tend to agree
Annwyn:
then it should be affirming.. not frightening Typo
Typo Demon:
i'm not frightened
PANITEOWL:
Yes Typo, Ann is right
Typo Demon:
just a little taken back. i didn't expect this
autumn:
what tells you now that you must be where you are??
Typo Demon:
for it to be so strong
Death Desire:
it never ceases to amaze us typo.{G}
Red Deer:
NEVER
PANITEOWL:
Warmuth... With your students, do you have a particular exercise for them to improve their psychic talents?
ZenMastr:
Typo it's been my experience that this universe is really full of "bizarre"things... it's our conditioning that makes us see the everyday world as humdrum and predictable.
Typo Demon:
gut feelings autumn
Red Deer:
aye, Zen
Typo Demon:
and i "know " its not over yet
autumn:
{--understands
Warmuth:
Yes....I feel dream journals are very important
PANITEOWL:
Type .. it would seem that your talent is most described as "empathetic"
Typo Demon:
but i cant see what happens to me until it happens
autumn:
i had a strange thing happen last year
PANITEOWL:
You "reach out" instead of dwelling within
Warmuth:
I also have them put a cork in a bowl of water and try to influence the direction that it goes
Typo Demon:
yes
autumn:
...centered around a death that took place two years before
Typo Demon:
but i cant seem to get it to work on myself, no matter how hard i try
PANITEOWL:
again, knowing your talent, and nurturing that path, is part of the process
Typo Demon:
and i have tried
autumn:
does anyone wish to hear it?? not much to it, but to me it seems like a lot
Typo Demon:
thank you for hearing me out
ZenMastr:
trying is why you can't do it
Death Desire:
{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Class confusion}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
PANITEOWL:
I know some of you here are very adept at the psychic skills, but they are not all the same. Neither is better than the other, just different
PANITEOWL:
but all should be respected and nurtured
Rowan Berry:
go ahead , Autumn
autumn:
thank you rowan,
Death Desire:
PA please continue
Warmuth:
within the coven...these talents should be explored and utilized
Annwyn:
also.. don't you feel PA.. we all may receive the information differently
PANITEOWL:
Autumn .. go ahead
Annwyn:
either by our own natural talents
PANITEOWL:
Yes Ann, I do
autumn:
in 93' a close friend of mine died... and it was put off as a suicide
Annwyn:
and also by how we receive information in general
PANITEOWL:
Warm .. that is one thing I miss about being Solitary
autumn:
but i always felt there was something more to it, like there was foul play
PANITEOWL:
autumn, have you discussed this with anyone?
autumn:
then last year, i was having trouble sleeping
Moon's Tears:
PAniteowl, is the discussion still going? Who currently has the floor?
PANITEOWL:
Do you feel strongly enough about it to take some action?
autumn:
and there were dreams of tragic things.. though they made no sense
PANITEOWL:
Discussion still on, Autumn asked to contribute
autumn:
one night, the anniversary of his death, i had a vision. i saw the whole thing as clear as black and white then i went to hi fathers ranch and i walked around the area for a while and the same place i had seen in my vision, was there in front of me i had near been there. soon after the files were reopened, and it was found to be murder
PANITEOWL:
ok Autumn, back to the discussion of how we receive messages ... you certainly received very clear signals. you were able to research & identify locations
autumn:
not much to it, but like i said it seemed a lot to me
PANITEOWL:
you "sighting" was verified
autumn:
yes... it was
PANITEOWL:
The next time you experience a sighting, you will have more confidence in your talent. hopefully, the next time, the situation is a pleasant one
Red Deer:
indeed
Freinsch:
Here, here Pa
Typo Demon:
:}
PANITEOWL:
To get back to the subject
autumn:
that would be nice...lol
Annwyn:
but we must remember that the sight is not always so dramatic
Red Deer:
PA, may I
Annwyn:
these things send an intense energy out...
Annwyn:
to be able to apply it to our everyday living is important also
PANITEOWL:
within Covens, the cone of power which is collectively raised can be helpful in nurturing the talents of the individual as you experience & practice, and accept that this is indeed "for real"
Sylverhare:
My prime talent seems to be empathy, and it often comes out at the dinner table... my Xian relatives were very put out at Thanksgiving because I kept handing them things before they asked for them {G}
PANITEOWL:
your skepticism diminishes, and your talent can bloom
PANITEOWL:
RD .. you had a comment?
Herne777:
chuckle, that's funny Sylverhare
Red Deer:
yup
autumn:
lol sylver
Red Deer:
on the mundane side
PANITEOWL:
go ahead RD
Red Deer:
My first experience of the sight was at 6 years old...
Warmuth:
I think that it is VERY important to realize that initiation, whether self initiation or in a coven, will open doorways and talents will begin to appear that you didn't know you had
autumn:
i agree warm
Red Deer:
As I watched the woman who helped my mother raise me in the kitchen, I suddenly froze, for what I saw was not her.
PANITEOWL:
Agree Warm
Red Deer:
Mother asked what was up
Moon's Tears:
Please hold comment until discussion is called for or PAniteowl has yielded you the floor, thank you.
Warmuth:
It's important to recognize them for what they are and not to fear them
Herne777:
Thank you Lady Warmuth for stressing the importance of initiation
Red Deer:
told her Elisabeth was old and had teeth (she didn't have any at the time)
Moon's Tears:
Red Deer has the floor, please hold comment until later.
Red Deer:
Of course, it was laughed off...
Red Deer:
Then when I was in my early 20's, I was visiting home, and I saw it in reality (instead of precog)
Annwyn:
Yes. Lady
Warmuth:
thank you
Red Deer:
She was there, she was old, she was doing exactly what I'd seen her do (which was a little unusual back then at 6) and, she had TEETH! When I asked Mom if she remembered it, she nearly fell out! Intense sight and feeling can be connected to VERY mundane things!
PANITEOWL:
Your memory, so strong RD, it really made an impression, didn't it because it was indeed extraordinary. At the young age, you didn't know you couldn't ( or shouldn't be able) to do that!
Red Deer:
It made a strong impression because of my knowledge that what I saw was NOT real, and my intense feeling that it would be Even at 6 I could recognize that what had happened was extraordinary
PANITEOWL:
The strongest hurdle to overcome in allowing our talents to develop .. is our own doubt. We limit ourselves
Warmuth:
agreed!
PANITEOWL:
and we can free ourselves from the limitations through the practices and rituals taught by the craft
Red Deer:
agreed, PA
PANITEOWL:
We do not try to influence, but enhance the abilities of our peers within the craft
autumn:
meditation in those ritual
PANITEOWL:
yes autumn .. very important practice. we have the tools available to us to develop, as a community, we should nurture & encourage those in the process. now... on my soap box for a minute
Warmuth:
may I talk about guided meditations?
PANITEOWL:
the technical abilities of the computer age have allowed us to share more of our individual talents and teachings. it is important that we continue to grow, and advise, and nurture each other
Annwyn:
strengthen your brethren and they shall strengthen thee
PANITEOWL:
Warm .. you have the floor
aye annie
Warmuth:
I just want to remind you all that in doing a guided meditation either by a tape or with a person it is best to do it with in a circle for protection. when you open yourself to others like that you can open yourself
autumn:
yes... i definitely agree warm
Warmuth:
to other things too
Red Deer:
aye, Warmuth
PANITEOWL:
yes Warm, I can not stress the importance of the rituals that bind us and aid us .. we do need to be reminded .. thanx. As a solitary .. I do so without thinking .. your perspective from the coven point did need to be addressed. After all, you have more experience than I in teaching {g}
Warmuth:
rituals make part of the mind busy so the other part can open up at least that's my opinion
PANITEOWL:
I agree ...
Sylverhare:
I don't think I have ever had a guided meditation that has worked for me, I tend to think of them as visualization exercises, actual manifestations and visions have always come on me unexpected, though usually within circle
PANITEOWL:
I would hope that those who are trying to develop their talents would seek out others to help them
Sylverhare:
perhaps I am being self limiting?
PANITEOWL:
Sylver .. a question please?
Annwyn:
perhaps you have found what works for you
Sylverhare:
yes PA?
Witch Cat:
Release of conventional and restraining thoughts/teachings to gain the receptiveness of a child?
Warmuth:
? Am asking.
PANITEOWL:
do you think you try to hard in a formal setting? Do you need an alpha state to receive?
Sylverhare:
maybe... its something I'll think about, its just that they seem to come when I am NOT trying rather than when I am
ZenMastr:
there's something to that, sylver
PANITEOWL:
You are a "people" person, perhaps your empathy when others are around, shuts off the other??? Just a supposition??
Ocean's Edge:
PA, would you please, clarify "Alpha state", i've heard that used many times, I'm still not sure I know what it is
PANITEOWL:
Again, we're back to the individual having a particular way to handle this talent
ok Ocean .. you know that state, just before you drop off to sleep
Ocean's Edge:
yes...
PANITEOWL:
or when you're very relaxed, on the beach?
ZenMastr:
me too
Ocean's Edge:
ok yes
PANITEOWL:
They can actually record the alpha waves changing at that time
Sylverhare:
well I do tend to be distracted by the energy levels of others in circle, that may be it, though it helps when I lead ritual to know how to best compliment the circles energy
PANITEOWL:
So a state of Alpha, is usually very receptive
Freinsch:
I find that when I get close to the sleep state, I slip right in...how do you keep from doing that?
ZenMastr:
practice Fr
Ocean's Edge:
ok, those have been the times when I've had the most obvious flashes
Annwyn:
maybe you don't but that you don't remember what you have done in that state
Hayflower:
Fr-try sitting up before it happens
PANITEOWL:
ahh Freinsch .. that's easy ... I'll IM you later .. ok?
Warmuth:
when you drive your car...and all of a sudden you are there and you can't remember how you got there...that's alpha
Freinsch:
k
PANITEOWL:
OK all .. time is almost up .. I'll yield to you all {g}
autumn:
i find that it comes to me mostly when i am relaxed, very relaxed
ZenMastr:
you can't be serious!
Typo Demon:
LOL
Red Deer:
Be careful what you yield and to whom, PA {g}
ZenMastr:
can i comment on the alpha thing?
PANITEOWL:
LOL RD
Warmuth:
listening
Ocean's Edge:
please do Zen
KymmyKat:
Go ahead, Red
KymmyKat:
I mean ZEN
Sylverhare:
as long as it isn't "every time your eyes are closed for two minutes you are automatically in alpa" Zen
ZenMastr:
Tai Chi is sometimes known as moving meditation....
Red Deer:
bravo, Sylver... see you didn't take Ms Cabot seriously on that one!
KymmyKat:
I practice Tai Chi. Beginner.
PANITEOWL:
yes Zen .. Tai Chi is a technique to develop the alpha, and the extraordinary
Annwyn:
No Zen does it with his eyes open Sylver
ZenMastr:
one of the reasons for this practice is to move your abilities closer to "aplha state" while you are engaged in a physical movement
Red Deer:
{--- me too {g}
Death Desire:
yoga is great too
autumn:
may I ask a quick question??
KymmyKat:
Sure
Ocean's Edge:
ok I can see that
ZenMastr:
and some of the mystics believe that it helps clear energies for the more natural use of this ability.
Annwyn:
so as to duplicate that state on will ...ZEN?
ZenMastr:
yep Ann
PANITEOWL:
yep
Annwyn:
To become familiar with it and have a recall of it?
PANITEOWL:
good point Zen
ZenMastr:
yep
autumn:
do any of you ever get a ringing in your ear before something happens?? i have all my life
KymmyKat:
Autumn?
Death Desire:
yesss autumn
Typo Demon:
yes autumn
Moon's Tears:
many times autumn
PANITEOWL:
ok .. one more thing .. now that Zen reminded me .. the physical state of being is important to the psychic abilities Warmuth:
not sound for me...every thing goes slow motion
autumn:
(sigh) thought i was only me or something...like i was a freak... lol
Typo Demon:
i just considered the ringing as the Goddess's wake up call
autumn:
lol typo
Rowan Berry:
more like a blocking out of sound, autumn
PANITEOWL:
{g}
Typo Demon:
not kidding
KymmyKat:
I do, too Autumn. All my life. Sorry I'm late on that, but I was upstairs.
Moon's Tears:
PAniteowl has the floor again...
autumn:
until a few years ago i had no understanding of what it was
PANITEOWL:
Well all, do you think we could discuss this again in the future? With another facilitator for a different perspective?
Red Deer:
Great idea, PA
Death Desire:
thank you PA :)
Ocean's Edge:
would love to PA
Red Deer:
Maybe
Warmuth:
?
Moon's Tears:
Yes indeed PA, the class was enjoyable
Sylverhare:
thanks PA
Ocean's Edge:
but you were great!
autumn:

Annwyn:
Thank you Hoot
Red Deer:
Yes, an excellent offering, PA
PANITEOWL:
Yes
Warmuth:
would be great!!
Moon's Tears:

Warmuth:

Moon's Tears:
Thank you PAniteowl!
ZenMastr:
thanx PA!!
Freinsch:
