Now for sex magick from an old Crone's perspective

Within the craft we honor both the Goddess and the God. Using all Pantheons, each of us identifies with an aspect depending on the point of our own personal life experience. Both Deities are symbiotic, and each adapts to the stage of life as individuals, yet tied together in the balance of life force. This Earth Balanced dance of life is echoed by all the living beings of the Earth. From the plants, animals, fish and fowl... the nature of us all is driven by sexual genetic programs. With the God we identify the Son, Consort, Father, Warrior, and within his story we see the sacrificial role of provider and progenitor. With the Goddess we see the Maiden, Mother, Crone, Warrior, and within her story we also see the rejuvination and replication fo history and life.

For women, it is much easier to see this connection because of the menses. As our bodies change, we adapt. Our activities and outlook change as we assimilate the physical changes, recognizing a responsibility to our sexuality. The individual personalities mold aroung the physical change and for some, it is no more than a nuisance, for some it is scary, for some it is sad, and for some it is a joyous benchmark. Whatever we do, we are reminded that we are women. Within the craft, we take our cycles into consideration whether it is planning a gathering or performing a ritual. It is natural... it is an Earth Cycle.

For men, the cycle is concurrent with the female cycles, yet is often overlooked. Because it's nature is not as obvious, does not mean it is not there. Men have had the nurturing tutored out of them for generations. For men to feel deep love, or emotional ecstacy, is viewed as unmanly. Men are encouraged to give perfect trust, yet shy away from perfect love.

The first reaction is to equate the love of a man with sex... yet the physical act is not where love resides. It is in the innermost core of the awareness, that place we talk about when we create "Circle". We do a disservice to all future sages when we do not let them know that we understand and encourage their depth of feeling. When I speak of sex magick, I am talking of the connection felt when those who practice the craft join together and a very real, physical force, or empowerment is felt. It has little to do with physical sex, yet the core of feeling generated within circle is indeed similar to an orgasmic release. When we are linked to others PSYchically {G} the energy created is felt by all the wonderment acts like an amplifier... and all things become special.

This is when magick "happens". To try to capture the magick for magick's sake alone, is like eating one potato chip {G} IMHO. To learn the paths of the craft, and along with them, reap the benefits of many heightened areas of awareness in our lives, is to understand the meaning of sex magick. Learning to connect with one another, learning to care for and consider another when we are also focusing on ourselves, creates the symbiotic relationship we see in our Deities. Each are great in and of themselves... together they are AWE-some. Perhaps that is why so many religions ask their followers to refrain from sex

or warn against taking pleasure in sex. They define the "rapture", or orgasmic reactions as being acceptable only within the narrow confines of Dietific acts

We in the craft believe that all are part of the Dieties, and when we join with them, and they with us, it is not unjust, or unholy, or wrong... It is right, and fitting and just... so mote it be!!
