.Red Deer, who moves slowly from his place in the Circle. Deer carries a large harvest basket over his arm which is filled, and covered with a fine linen cloth. He first proceeds round the circle, stopping before each celebrant. From beneath the linen, he withdraws a small cluster of poplar leaves bound together with a length of bramble, which he lays at their feet. Then, exchanging a warm hug, he moves on. Having completed the round and returned to his own place, Red Deer turns inward toward the altar that is at both the center of this circle and of all circles - all times and all places. Before the altar, Deer pauses to remove the linen cover from his basket. He then withdraws a large stem of scuppernongs - those intensely sweet, golden grapes of southern autumn - and lays them upon the altar. As we move into the darker part of the dance, may their sweetness call to mind that of summers past as well as those yet to come. May their fragrance bear us through the lean times yet to come. He holds the bowl aloft for a moment - while it is charged with feeling of this place, and all gathered perceive the reflection of colors through its copper pigments - then places it upon the altar's center. Taking a white taper from the right end of the alter, Deer lights the charcoal within, and then heaps crystals of Myrrh and Patchouli resin upon it. As he begins to speak, the mixed fragrances - sweet and spicy, earthy and heavy - gather on the mountain air to tantalize all gathered. .Elenya enters the circle, in awe of this moment and the beauty surrounding her. In honour of the Goddess, she is wearing a simple white robe, and her beloved amulet of a golden Ygdrasill cradled by a silver crescent moon. Her copper hair is highlighted by the rays of light from the silvery Wine moon above her. She pauses to look at each of the others gathered together, smiles briefly, then turns to approach the altar. She raises her arms to the sky and begins to speak: "Oh Holy Mother, we call upon you to be present this evening as we celebrate the ecstasy of your spirit and the joy of your presence here on Earth. SilverFire wakes from a trance and walks to the altar ." Emmereaude steps to the center of the circle and faces the altar. She bows deeply in reverence to the Lady and the Lord. Most especially, thanks for the great healing that our daughter has received, and the thanks for the many friends both within this circle and without, whose sendings - prayers, rituals, medicine bags, visualization tools - were an important part of it." .Red Deer pauses for a long moment to gaze at the wine moon in all her glory, basking in Her light, and continues. "I have ridden the night sky over many moons, I have seen the Great Wheel in this journey of my life, and the Wheel of the Year in its seasonal cycle. Moon-tides and Sun-tides surge in my blood. "Mother, I give thanks for your generous bounty this summer, we will be enjoying the fruits of your harvest for many months to come." "I would also like to thank you for the strength you have provided myself and my family over this past moon. Thank you for watching over Kathryn and guiding her through the healing process. Particularly she is thankful for the life of Steven, who crossed over one year ago yesterday and whose influence in her earlier development has been showing strongly lately; for Poseidon, whose questions show her Truth; and for Sharon, who pushes her growth toward Light in more ways than she's ever found words to say. I thank you for being with us in this time of honor to your mighty selves and to have you listen to our petitions I ask that you give guidance where needed and to answer each with your wisdom I give you myself in the way that you see fit to be used and to heal all that need to be healed ." Lowering the staff to turn in a circle and beaming out onto the circle the pure light of the Goddess and God . the White light of peace falls on all here and to those that have read This Full Moon Rite "I now close the Circle as in the past and ask that all spirits return to your homes with out harm to none . and to stay in our hearts for the rest of the days to come ."
