Boudica and Owl welcomes all to the Second Full Moon Ritual of June, the Blue Moon Ritual. We are on the top of Blue Mountain in the New York Adirondak Pk. This place is special to me and I wish to share the beauty and the peace of this place.
Boudica, dressed in a sapphire gown covered in tiny silver stars, with Owl on her shoulder, walks deosil round the top of the mountain, her rowan wand tracing the outer part of the circle. She sways and dances a bit to the beat of a drumin the distance. There is a slight chill in the air, which smells heavily of Pine, damp earth which never really dries, and small patches of ice and snow are still visible between rocks and under trees. Looking out, there are few scatteredlights, but mostly the light is reflected moonlight from Blue Mountain Lake, below us.
She continues till she has made a complete circle. Owl takes to a nearby tree. Our Altar is a large flat rock dropped by the Great Glassier, which receeded north after the last ice age.
The Moon has risen. She is full, round, bright and radiant. The Altar has a red and a white candle, a large chalice, a bowl of salt and a bowl with offerings of fruit and herbs. She lights the Altar candles and begins............
May all disharmony flee. When we enter herein, we call withhumility the Ancient Ones. Enter this circle and invoke divine pleasures, and prosperity and joy and charity and Greetings. May the goddess help and defend this circle, maydiscord disappear from it.
She dances to and faces East. Arms raised she feels the mountain winds. We greet thee, East, the Ancient of the Air, join our circle and fill it with your sweetness.
She dances to and faces South. There is a torch, which she lights with a blue flame from her hand. She raises her armsand the torch flairs. We greet thee, South, Ancient of FireJoin this circle and fill us with your warmth.
She dances to and faces West. Below is Blue Mountain Lake, and before her is a bowl of water taken from that lake. We greet thee, West, Ancient of Water. Join us and make us alllight of heart.
She dances to and faces North. She bends over and picks up ahandful of earth, and places it in a bowl. It smells rich and deep. We greet thee, South, Ancient of the Earth. Join us and fill us with your strength.
She now turns to the Altar. It is also covered with wildflowers, especially Trillium, the three petal flower of the Adirondacks, which she has always felt was special to the Goddess. She turns to all gathered:
Here the circle has been cast
The Ancients called from out the past
beyond the boundaries of time and space
Created here a sacred place
none but love has entered in
And with love we now begin.
She steps back to the circle for the invoking of the God and Goddess.
Wildswan steps to the center of the circle, on the altar shelays a bouquet of flowers and herbs from her garden......
On her right is Boudica, beautiful sister and friend, her golden curls glow in the moonlight. They embrace..
On her left is Imagicka, gentle Indian spirit, keeper of the magic touch......They embrace....
Wildswan lifts her Willow staff, twisted with honeysuckle, set with crystal and swan feathers, her white gown swirls inthe evening wind, she faces the moon......
Oh Great Goddess, you flow thru me to the sea,
I am ocean - I am earth,
Circle of fire I dance.
The wind is at my back.
You are my power,
I am strong,
I am Shakti.
Great Mother her our prayers.
But oh Great Lord
I open myself to you,
I have been ...Maiden, Mother and Crone
and without you I am but an empty shell.
with you - the circle made complete.
I am your lady
Hear our prayers.
Tonight I ask only for others, I have all I need, to me you are always kind.....
For Nancy, God-speed on her journey, love from Patrick, and may the muses forever dance before her!
For Daniel, the strengh to be honest, and true.
To Wolfram, my fellow swan, the healing powers of all the elements, may your heart be strong, you will again find love.
And I send all my love to Heather, Emilee, Brian, Greta,Ron, Louis, Merceades, David and of course sweet Michal, may the Goddess always grant us the joy we felt at Soltice, my soul is stil aflame........
Wildswan steps back to Boudica and Imagicka, they hold hands
Boudica steps to the altar, and from her hand she places three small objects on the altar.
Gentil Goddess, show me what to do.
She returns to the circle to make room for......
Elven steps forward to the altar, placing a piece of parchment on it, and takes a step back. Bringing a lovely crafted, wooden, flute to his lips, Elven begins to play a soothing melody. Quickly he plays the notes, one moment, and slowly the next, then quickly again. You feel the forcesof the wind, in time with the song, wrap around you, compelling, almost asking, you to dance. Time seems not toexist. And then, softly, Elven brings his performance to anend. The wind dies down, releasing you from the dance, and drifts away.
Lowering his flute, Elven looks to the night sky and says>>>
"I hear your whispers....
in the trees, the land,
the water, the sky, and...
in all living creatures.
I sense your feelings,
in the morning air,
and on into the night.
I feel your love,
within my heart...
and to you,
I send my own."
Elven, raises his arms in the air. "To the Goddesses and the Gods, keepers of the universe, do I pledge my service. I ask only that ye guide me, in all that I do. And now, before all, my dedication is done."
Elven lowers his arms, and steps back to the circle.
Bronwyn looks at her fellow celebrants of this special and powerful moon and smiles a gentle, mysterious smile. She did not bring her harp today--instead in tow is her toddler daughter, pale of hair, mirror of the moon's illumination. Bronwyn wears a simple white gown, flowing as water, brushing the green-scented grass with a kiss. She holds white and blue bluebells in one arm, and her special moonstone in her other hand. She steps forward, with her child Rowan Rhiannon holding her dress behind her. When they reach the altar, Bronwyn hands Rowan a flower, then both place their offering upon the stone. "Thank you, my Lady, for granting my request. You have taught me once moreto remember that old saying to be careful what you wish for,as it may come true! What I have taken, I freely give. May it strengthen my bond with you."
Bron then scoops up Rowan into her arms with a kiss and a giggle and returns to place...
...as Cloud steps forward, and leaves on the altar a small basket of tiny new produce. Her larger basket is filled withmulberries, and she shares it around the circle - for at this time of great giving TO us, the best offering FROM us is appreciation. She smiles her love to all who continue this tradition, and to the moon who inspires it, and steps back to await...
Boudica, who notices all the petitioners have rejoined the circle.
She walks to the North, and returns the earth fro the bowl to the ground. We thank thee North, Ancient Earth, Go with the Goddess in peace.
She walks to the West and pours the water from the bowl to the ground. We thank thee, West, Ancient Water, Go with theGoddess in peace.
Shw walks to the South. She wraps her hands aroudn the flame and it dies. We thank thee South, Ancient Fire. Go with the Goddess.
She walks East, raises her arms into the winds, cool upon her face. We thank thee East, Ancient Air, go with the Goddess in peace.
We thank thee, Oh Goddess
We thank thee, Oh God
For joining our Circle
Let my mind be open to your truth
Let my mouth be silent among the unbelievers
Let my heart seek you always
Let my hands lift in praise of you
Let my feet always walk your secret path
Owl returns to Boudica's shoulder
I wish to thank you all for joining our circle......
Walk with the Goddess.....
