The Service Committee

The main objective of the service committee is to help Honors students engage in public service both within and outside the UNC community. The committee directs a year-long tutoring program with the afterschool students at Frank Porter Graham Elementary in Carrboro, as well as other activities including an Honors Program Relay for Life team and working with Habitat for Humanity. We also have in the works a series of workshops at Hillside High School in Durham concerning financial aid, applications, and college essays, directed at helping these students succesfully apply to college.
