A folklore symposium:
"Myths and Tall Tales: Folklore in African American Culture"

Friday, September 12, 2008 10AM - 3PM
Pleasants Family Assembly Room, Wilson Library

This event will explore the role of folklore as a tradition and staple in African American culture and history. Our Keynote Speaker will be Dr. Valerie A. Johnson of Bennett College. Panelists will include: Dr. William Ferris, Dr. Trudier Harris, and Michelle Lanier.

  • Lunch will be provided, therefore we request that you register in advance.
  • Professors are encouraged to have their students attend this symposium.
