The Institute of African American Research (IAAR) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill announces the 2009 UNC African American Research Consortium.
The Consortium is a continuing networking initiative. It seeks to connect UNC faculty, postdocs, staff, and graduate students conducting research on African American issues. Most importantly, the Consortium is an opportunity for researchers to “meet and greet” colleagues with similar research agendas and programs, to exchange ideas, and to share their experiences as professionals in the academy. The Consortium will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 from 4:00 - 6:00pm in the Anne Queen Faculty Commons at the Campus Y. The event is co-sponsored by Carolina 's Department of African and Afro-American Studies and the Sonja Haynes Stone Center for Black History and Culture.
For more information, please contact Tomeiko Ashford Carter, IAAR Associate Director, at tashford@email. unc.edu or (919) 962-6810.
