Interfaith and Intercultural Dialogue Club (IIDC) founded in 2005 is a student organization at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, which has been founded for the purposes:
· To provide a forum to discuss and promote inter-faith dialogue and understanding. · To allow interested students and faculty to learn more about religions in a respectful atmosphere. · To exchange and broaden views on topics that integrates religion, society and science.
With this goal in mind, we have been organizing and taking part in different social activities, including picnics, seminars, special cultural performances and reading groups that bring people of diverse backgrounds together. Rather than concentrating on differences, we try to emphasize commonalities that bring us together and far outnumber the differences. We truly hope that by doing so, the activities organized by IIDC would contribute to the world peace, tolerance, and understanding. IIDC is formed mainly by a group of international graduate students who are committed to this goal. |
