Aquatic ecology, phytoplankton ecology, ecosystem health, nutrient cycling in riverine and estuarine systems
Education:
- 2007 - B.S. Wildlife Ecology and Conservation, University of Florida
Bio:
I am a M.S. student in the Curriculum for the Environment and Ecology. My research focuses on the influence of varying nutrient forms on phytoplankton community composition and function. Specifically I am interested in the bioavailability and role of dissolved organic nitrogen (DON) in structuring planktonic algal communities, as well as its possible role in toxic algal bloom development.
Hobbies:
Traveling, hiking, camping, swimming, snorkeling, jogging, watching college football, reading, baking, teaching my yorkie-poo tricks, fly-ball
