Ken Jacobson, Ph.D. in Biophysical Sciences, SUNY at Buffalo, 1972

Dr. Jacobson teaches in the Molecules to Cell course for medical students and in Advanced Cell Biology for graduate students, as well as in the microscope imaging courses at UNC and throughout the world. Dr. Jacobson is an Associate Director of the UNC-Olympus Imaging Research Center. He has served on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Cell Biology and the Biophysical Journal and currently serves on the Editorial Boards of Cytoskeleton and the Chemistry and Physics of Lipids. He serves on the Advisory Board of the Laboratory for Fluorescence Dynamics at the University of California-Irvine and has served on Advisory Board of the National Resource for Computer Analysis and Modeling at the University of Connecticut. Dr. Jacobson is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and winner of the 2011 Gregorio Weber Award for Excellence in Fluorescence Theory and Application.
