About Jasmin
Hey Everyone!!
I am Jasmin Jones and I just want to thank you so much for taking time to check out the website and all of the new ideas that this campaign hopes to bring to Carolina. This has been a long journey, but thanks to the campaign team, we are finally here to make it happen. I want to share with you a little about myself and why I would like to represent you as Student Body President.
I am a junior from Atlanta, GA who came to Carolina with a lot of excitement about everything that Carolina has to offer: the academics and the school spirit. This was a very new and different environment for me, and I knew that this would be the chance for me to define myself and find my life’s passions. Being an out-of-state student was a difficult transition for me at first, but I quickly realized that Carolina was my home and that I needed to understand and embrace every part of it. Ever since then, I saw the wonders of Carolina work before my eyes. I saw the wonderful people I was surrounded with, the wonderful opportunities that were within my reach, and the pathway for me to become the person that I knew I wanted to be.
I have always been very involved at Carolina working with a variety of student groups, especially student government. I value the accountability that the student government holds to students. I have seen great things happen for student life as a direct result of the work that student government does, and I sincerely want to continue making a difference for students and their Carolina experience. This administration will focus on several important issues, and will always do so while making sure that student government is visible and accessible to all students, answering the needs and concerns of students, and bringing together all of the communities on campus in order to make everyone work together.
I want to serve you in this capacity because I understand what Carolina needs in order to step to the next level as a university. I have used my career at Carolina to invest myself in understanding what students want and need by working with many different students, and I have designed my platform to reflect just that. I know that every student desires and deserves to have the best experience during their time here, and I plan to use Student Government as the means to help them do so. I want to bring a new touch to Carolina by fostering stronger relationships with all of the different communities represented on campus and the surrounding community, all while focusing on what makes this university so great—its students. I want to help pave the way for the future Carolina to become the best university that we know it can be through the joint help of everyone on campus. I am here on behalf of the students, and I hope that you will allow me to represent you.
I want to thank you again for taking a look at the website. I am so elated about the campaign season and will look to see you follow along and participate with the team and me as we work to make this Carolina dream come true. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to shoot me an email at jasmin@email.unc.edu—I would absolutely love to hear from you.
Have a wonderful day!
Jasmin
