Project objectives
THE CMC PROJECT AIMS to develop close relations between the school and
community by
- linking schools with their communities
- increasing parent and community involvement
- involving local musicians who are part of local traditions
- increasing students' pride in their communities and heritage
The CMC project aims to integrate music into the full range of the regular
school curriculum by
- incorporating music into regular classroom instruction
- integrating music with other subjects
- using music and music traditions to realize the goals and objectives of
the state curriculum
The CMC project aims to place in the foreground the importance of aesthetic
understanding in the modern world by
- introducing local music and musical traditions in ways that are relevant
to students' lives
