Nominations are now being accepted for University Teaching Awards, which recognize outstanding teaching and mentoring to undergraduate, graduate and post-baccalaureate students. Faculty, staff, students and alumni are invited to nominate teachers and mentors for the awards.

The deadline to submit a nomination for the 2024 awards is 5 p.m. on Sept. 29.

The University Teaching Awards Committee reviews nominations each fall and gathers additional information before recommending a slate of winners to Chancellor Kevin M. Guskiewicz. Last year, 25 educators were recognized with University Teaching Awards.

This year, the committee will recommend recipients for six types of awards, including the Board of Governors’ Award for Excellence in Teaching; the Mentor Award for Lifetime Achievement; the Distinguished Teaching Awards for Post-Baccalaureate Instruction; the Tanner Awards to Graduate Teaching Assistants; the Chapman Family Teaching Awards; and the awards to faculty for excellence in undergraduate teaching.
