Diversity Advocate Certificate
The Diversity Education Team announces the creation of a Diversity Advocate Certificate. All faculty, staff and students are eligible to receive the certificate. In order to receive the certificate an application must be made that details the activities that support diversity that the applicant has participated in over the last twenty-four months. Objective
Recognize students, faculty, and staff who are actively engaged in making Carolina a more diverse and diverse-friendly learning environment. Applicants successfully completing all requirements will receive their certificate and be honored at the annual diversity banquet.
Certificate Requirements and Information
- Attend Diversity 101 Class
- Attend four (4) other diversity events on campus. One (1) event off campus may be counted if prior approval is given by Dr. Newsom. Please Note: Safe Zone or Haven count as two (2) events.
- Write a 250-word statement on your experiences of diversity, what you learned from the attended events, and/or how you sought to promote a diversity-friendly environment.
- All events must have been attended within two years of submitting the application
- 2012 applications must be submitted by March 15. The certificates are awarded annually at the Diversity Awards Reception in late April.

- Applications are in pdf form and can be filled out on your computer and then printed
