Kappa Omicron Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.’s Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Oratorical Contest | 7:00 pm | Stone Center Auditorium
Ignite. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy goes beyond one man and resonates across generations of protesters, mobilizers, and activists for change. Without the courageous individuals who stood behind him in pursuit of equality and justice, Dr. King’s name would not have the same meaning that it does today. Contestants will prepare an original piece in response to the following prompt: As Dr. King’s generation prepares to pass the torch of change to our generation, do you think that his dream has fully transpired into a reality as we try to keep this light ablaze, or has this light already started to diminish? Orations will be judged on originality, presentation, and impact of the message. Sponsor: Kappa Omicron Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Contact: Moni Oyedepo at oyedepo@live.unc.edu.
