UNC
offering shelter, hot meals, hot showers to community
Individuals who wish to make use of
the shower facilities should bring their own towels and other bath supplies,
university officials said. Those wishing to take shelter there should bring
their blankets and pillows.
Parking will be
available in the Bell Tower lot off South Road; signs will be posted and
officers available to direct people to parking. Shuttle service will be
available from the lot to the gym. Woollen Gym is located on South Road just

The shelter, which the university has coordinated opening today with the Orange
County chapter of the American Red Cross, will remain open as long as there is a
need, officials said.
In addition, the university will be selling hot meals to members of the

Student Union) will be selling hot meals to members of the community from 11
