UNC-Chapel Hill open; adverse weather policy in effect for employees
CHAPEL HILL -- The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is open today (Jan. 23).
Classes are being held unless cancelled by an individual faculty member. Campus offices are open. Employees are reminded that the adverse weather policy (http://www.ais.unc.edu/hr/admin/advweath.htm) is in effect. Students and employees are urged to use caution in traveling.
The university is operating under condition I in its list of adverse weather notices. That means snow and ice has accumulated in the UNC employment area, causing some difficulty in travel for students and employees.
More information about the university's operational status is available at http://www.unc.edu, the main university Web page, or by calling the Adverse Weather Hotline at (919) 843-1234 for recorded information. Similar information also is broadcast on the university's Traveler's Information System, 1610 AM. Details on the condition of campus parking lots and the status of Chapel Hill Transit are available at the Department of Public Safety Web site, http://www.dps.unc.edu.
