Local students earn UNC degrees; recognized on Dean’s List
CHAPEL HILL -- More than 4,732 students earned bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral or professional degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill during a May 18th ceremony, featuring remarks by actor and education advocate Bill Cosby.
In addition, more than 4,593 Carolina students were recognized for outstanding academic achievement by their selection for the 2003 spring semester Dean’s List.
Students are eligible for the Dean’s List if they earn at least a 3.2 grade-point-average on a 4.0 scale while taking 15 or more letter-grade credit hours. They are also eligible if they earn a 3.5 grade-point-average while taking at least 12 letter-grade credit hours. Students must have no grades lower than a "C". On a 4.0 scale, "A" equals 4, "B" equals 3 and "C" equals 2.
