Local students earn UNC degrees; recognized on Dean’s List
CHAPEL HILL – The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill awarded bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral or professional degrees to 5,038 students during a May 9th ceremony, featuring remarks by civil right activist and lawyer Julius Chambers.
In addition, more than 4,896 Carolina students were recognized for outstanding academic achievement by their selection for the 2004 spring semester Dean’s List.
Students are eligible for the Dean’s List if they earn at least a 3.2 grade-point-average on a 4.0 scale while taking 15 or more letter-grade credit hours. They are also eligible if they earn a 3.5 grade-point-average while taking at least 12 letter-grade credit hours. Students must have no grades lower than a "C". On a 4.0 scale, "A" equals 4, "B" equals 3 and "C" equals 2.

For Editors -- How to Use the Web Page Site
To search for those students in your circulation area:
- On the left-hand side of the browser choose option 1 (Dean’s List) or option 2 (Degree Recipients). Note: There is not a default set for these two fields.
- For the Semester/Year choose "Fall 2003".
- For "ALL STUDENTS" choose "Yes" OR
- For "North Carolina County," select your county OR
- For "State" select your state.
- Choose an output type – HTML is the default but other options include MS Excel, MS Word or Adobe PDF formats.
- Click "Submit" – the results will be displayed in a browser window.
