Early morning robbery reported at Carolina Inn
CHAPEL HILL - An employee of the Carolina Inn on the campus of the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill reported being robbed by a male suspect early
today (May 25).
The suspect reportedly entered an office in the hotel at 5:30 a.m., produced
a knife and demanded money from the employee. The suspect fled with an unknown
amount of currency.
The suspect is described as a black male with a dark complexion, 20-30 years
old, standing 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He had a short
haircut and a mustache. He was wearing black pants, a white shirt and had a
black backpack on his shoulder.
UNC Public Safety is conducting an investigation into the incident and asks
anyone with information concerning this case to call the department at (919)
962-8100 or Chapel Hill-Carrboro-UNC CrimeStoppers at (919) 942-7515. Callers
to CrimeStoppers are neither asked to reveal their identity nor appear in court.
