CHAPEL HILL -- Dr. James Donohue, professor of medicine and director of the clinical group pulmonary division at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will discuss lung disease at Carolina Meadows Continuing Care Retirement Community in Chapel Hill Friday (Nov. 14).
Donohue will discuss how changes in the lung with aging increase likelihood of lung disease. His talk, Airway Disease, will be free and open to all at 2 p.m. at Carolina Meadows, 100 Carolina Meadows Road, Chapel Hill.
Donohue is one of the speakers in the course Medical Update for Retirees, arranged by the Carolina Meadows Health Committee. He has researched and published numerous scientific papers and book chapters on every aspect of pulmonary disease.
Carolina Meadows is a continuing care retirement community with more than 500 residents. It offers programs such as this lecture to educate residents about current issues and to keep their academic minds active.
Donohue's talk is sponsored by Carolina Speakers at UNC-CH. The program, which began as a statewide outreach effort in 1993, brings 70 leading faculty members to business, civic and community groups to share their expertise on more than 100 topics, including 30 that focus on North Carolina and the South.
