November shows at Morehead Planetarium

CHAPEL HILL -- Get rid of those cold-weather blues by attending a sparkling new show or timeless holiday favorite at Morehead Planetarium.

“Sol & Company,” a show produced entirely at the planetarium, will make its first public appearance Saturday (Nov. 22) at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. “Sol & Company” is a fun introduction to the sun's family. All of the planets are introduced in this kid-friendly tour of the solar system with Sol and his pal Astro Nomy.

“The Star of Bethlehem” will shine again Tuesdays through Fridays at 8:30 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays at 1:30, 3:30 and 8:30 p.m. Ancient and modern astronomy come together with historical evidence and scientific method in this show, a quest to identify the famous star reported over Bethlehem some 2,000 years ago. “The Star of Bethlehem” is a classic show for all ages.

Morehead Planetariums Star Theater will have the following extended schedule for the Thanksgiving holiday. The * denotes children's shows.

3:30 p.m. The Planet Patrol*

7:30 p.m. Mysterious Solar System
