"During his productive tenure as dean, the leadership of Robert Sullivan has helped significantly transform the Kenan-Flagler Business School, raising even higher its academic quality and well-deserved reputation as an educational leader here in the United States and in the international arena," Moeser said. "The university has benefited from Kenan-Flagler’s innovations and successes, and we are grateful to Bob for all he and the faculty, staff and students have done to make that progress possible.
Bob now has the rare opportunity to become the founding dean of the newly approved Graduate Management School at UC, San Diego. We in Chapel Hill wish him success in meeting the challenge of building a new graduate program from the ground up. The people of California will benefit from the considerable expertise and experiences that Bob will bring with him to this exciting new position."
Moeser said he planned to name Dr. Julie Collins, currently senior associate dean of Kenan-Flagler, as interim dean and will appoint a committee to conduct a national search to fill the post on a permanent basis.
