CHAPEL HILL -- WUNC-FM will present a live taping of a Composers-in-Context show featuring Margaret Brouwer, head of the composition department at the Cleveland Institute of Music, Nov. 24 at the N.C. Museum of Art in Raleigh.

The show, which begins at 3 p.m., will be co-hosted by WUNC’s Patty Painter-Wakefield and North Carolina Symphony Composer-in-Residence Nathaniel Stookey. Brouwer will talk with the co-hosts about her music and the influences that have affected her as an artist. She also will take questions from the audience. The Mallarme’ Chamber Players will perform Brouwer’s Quartet for clarinet, bassoon, violin and percussion.

Tickets are available from the museum box office. They cost $6 for general admission, $5 for museum members, and are free for students. Tickets may be purchased by telephone, (919) 715-5923, Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Visa and MasterCard are accepted.

WUNC’s Composers-in-Context Concert Series presents a living composer within the context of works that have influenced his or her development as an artist. The series draws on talent from across WUNC’s 28-county coverage area.
