Neurology professor to discuss headaches

CHAPEL HILL -- The director of the University Headache Clinic will discuss the nature, meaning and treatment of headaches on Oct. 8 at UNC-Wilmington.

Dr. Alan Finkel, assistant clinical professor of neurology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will give his lecture, "Oh My Head" at noon in the Warwick Ballroom at 601 S. College Road. Call 910-962-3644 by Tuesday (Oct. 1) to reserve a space at the free public lecture.

Finkel will include discussion of how society deals with crucial decisions about pain relief and end-of-life issues, as well as advances in understanding neurological diseases such as migraines, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and multiple sclerosis.

The lecture was arranged by Carolina Speakers at UNC. The outreach program brings more than 90 faculty members to business, civic and community groups across the state. The speakers share their expertise on more than 150 topics, including 46 that focus on North Carolina and the South.
