UNC-Chapel Hill open; classes to be held

CHAPEL HILL – Based on current information from state and local emergency management officials about Hurricane Isabel and its possible impact, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hilll plans to operate on a normal schedule Thursday (Sept. 18^th.)

Classes will be held for students, and campus offices will remain open. Employees also are reminded of the university’s adverse weather policy. Details about that policy are at http://www.ais.unc.edu/hr/spaman/section11/sec11-adverse.htm.

If conditions change, the university will communicate any decisions about its operations as quickly as possible.

The university uses three operating conditions in adverse weather: Condition I (open), Condition II (classes cancelled; offices open) or Condition III (classes cancelled; offices closed). Reports of state government closings do not apply to the University.
