Piedmont Triad residents invited to learn how area compares in civic knowledge
CHAPEL HILL – Join Piedmont Triad residents, grassroots organizations and local leaders for an important dialogue on civic education and engagement at n Oct. 9 community forum. Organizers will discuss the recently released North Carolina Civic Index and develop local strategies to improve civic education and participation in the Piedmont Triad region. Students from area junior high and high schools are encouraged to share their views about the importance of youth civic engagement.
The forum will take place at Odell Memorial Auditorium, Greensboro College in Greensboro at 6:15 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Directions are available online at http://www.civics.unc.edu/civicindex/greensboro.htm. The forum is free and open to the public, but requires reservations before October 2.
