Anson Dorrance, biography writer
to speak tomorrow in Hamilton Hall
UNC women's soccer coach Anson Dorrance and Sports Illustrated writer Tim Crothers will speak at 5 p.m. tomorrow (Oct. 24) in Hamilton Hall room 100 to promote Crothers' new book about the coach.
The book is titled "The Man Watching: Anson Dorrance, the Unlikely Architect of the Greatest College Sports Dynasty Ever." Crothers' speaker date was added last week to a roster of book readings sponsored by the Bull's Head Bookshop.
Dorrance, who has guided the Tar Heels to 18 national championships over the past three decades, recently was named one of the best coaches of the past 25 years in an ESPN poll. Crothers is a lecturer in the UNC School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

'Daily Show' correspondent and friends
to visit campus for book-reading tour
Author and humorist John Hodgman, an NPR personality and a correspondent for "The Daily Show," will read from his new book, "The Areas of My Expertise," at 3:30 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 26) in the Frank Porter Graham Student Union (room 1505).
The initial speaker location was changed from room 3503 to accommodate for a larger audience.
Hodgman's book, which has been described as a version of Poor Richard's Almanac that is "newer, funnier and not at all true," was a New York Times bestseller and is now available in paperback. Hodgman will appear with musician Jonathan Coulton and author David Rees, who creates the satirical "Get Your War On" cartoon strip for Rolling Stone magazine.
