people and programs cited recently in the media:
National Coverage
ADHD
focuses on adults
USA Today
...Researchers believe that as many as 4% or 5% of U.S. adults have
ADHD, but perhaps only 15% to 25% of them know it.....Mental health
experts say Nessing is lucky to have a diagnosis. "When I was a
medical student, we were taught it didn't exist in adults," says
Richard Weisler, an adjunct professor of psychiatry at the University
of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
Croom's
hiring cheered beyond football
USA Today
When Sylvester Croom is introduced today as Mississippi State's football
coach, school officials will emphasize that the Bulldogs hired the best
coach for the job, not the best African-American one...."This registers
at the top of the scale, in terms of fundamental change in the American
South," said William Ferris, the senior associate director at
the Center for the Study of the American South at the University of
North Carolina, a Mississippi native and co-editor of The Encyclopedia
of Southern Culture.
