Faith affects teen film choices

Religious faith plays a key role in the movie-watching habits of teenagers,
according to new research for the National Study of Youth and Religion....Christian
Smith, principal investigator of the study, said in the report that
the data have some limitations....The National Study of Youth and Religion
is being conducted at the University of North Carolina.

While Advanced Placement courses are the norm in some high schools,
students in many of the state's low-income school districts have less
access to them....Jim Barber, executive director of LEARN NC,

Kitty Rutherford's third-grade students were planning a make-believe

On the maps depicting UNC's draft plan for the Carolina North
development, a finger of mostly residential development is proposed
to reach westward across Seawell School Road and into Carrboro.
Water
recycling is good policy (Editorial)
The Chapel Hill News
On first glance, it's surprising that there's so much controversy over
UNC's deal with OWASA to use recycled water....You would think UNC would
be applauded for taking the initiative on reducing its consumption of
a limited resource. The university will pay the full cost of installing
the infrastructure to use reclaimed wastewater.

service (Letter to the Editor)

As a former nurse executive of UNC Hospitals and now a state retiree,
I am saddened to learn that Eric Munson will be leaving his position
as president and chief executive of UNC Hospitals (news story, Feb.
3).

Tuition
struggle (Editorial)

No one believes that if the University of North Carolina Board of Governors
declines to approve campus-based tuition increases requested by its
member schools, tuition will never again have to be raised.
