Issues and Trends Affecting Carolina
100 Top High Schools, and One Grain of Salt
The New York Times
Like countless other high school guidance counselors, Lloyd Thacker has never
believed that the academic attributes
of colleges could be tabulated and ranked like the won-lost records of professional
football teams... But however
much he considers U.S. News's findings to be based on dubious science, Mr. Thacker

Bus rides causing some pedestrian trouble

Pedestrian safety on Chapel Hill’s Franklin Street is now being questioned after

Franklin opens up to a five lane road.
There are no crosswalks for three blocks and black paint covers old ones that

a situation where it's dangerous for both drivers and students because you've
got students who want to get where
they're going and drivers who have the same goal,” said UNC-Chapel Hill senior
Arash Jahanian....
