Activities are planned the week of Sept. 17-23 to celebrate the powers of rehabilitation to restore hope and achievement to people's lives.
At 10 a.m., Sept. 20, David Kiley, director of the Adaptive Sports and Adventures Program at the Charlotte Institute of Rehabilitation, will speak in 107 Berryhill Hall on "Celebrating the Successes of People with Disabilities."
On Sept. 23, an independent-living fair will be held between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. at University Mall. The fair will feature blood pressure and diabetes screenings along with therapeutic demonstrations and information booths.
The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the UNC Healthcare Rehabilitation Center and the Day Rehabilitation Program are sponsoring these events as well as exhibits throughout the week in the lobby of the Neuroscience Hospital.
